AUTEUR CRITICISM: MAMAT KHALID According to the auteur criticism, the example of the director’s film that is good to be considered as an auteur is the movies that I have chosen which are Rock Oo! (2013) and Rock Bro! (2016), both films are directed by Mamat Khalid. Mamat Khalid constantly portrays and directed comedy genre movies such as Rock Oo! and Rock Bro! Like the aforementioned movies, both movies have an interesting mix of genres, comedy, and musical. Everybody knows Mamat Khalid for his comedy genre film and his film attracted many viewers and some of his film got box office records. We also can see that Mamat Khalid likes to make his film in village life-style ( Zombie Kampung Pisang) or retro life-style as we can see in Rock Oo!
