TASK 4 | GENRE CRITICISM: BERSERK (1997) & ATTACK ON TITAN (2013) BERSERK (1997) ATTACK ON TITAN (2013) Berserk (1997) and Attack on Titan (2013) both are animated television series and aired on several countries’ television station. Berserk (1997) was aired from 1997 and 1998. It is an adaptation from manga Berserk. However, Attack on Titan (2013) or also known as Shingeki no Kyojin in Japanese was aired on 2013 and up until now. Both have dark humour story telling and not suitable for audience age under 18 without parental guidance. The reason is because both series have included scary death moment such as being eaten by the giants (from Attack on Titan) and many more. CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF: SAVING PRIVATE RYAN (1998) Saving Private Ryan was directed by a very genius and great director which is, Steven Spielberg. Mr Spielberg also directed many popular movies such as The Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and many more. The movie was released on July 24, 1998. Saving Private Ryan is 3 hours long of duration but the intense scenes from the movie will always give “goosebumps” to the audience when they watch the film. The film also starring great actors which are Tom Hanks as the Captain Miller, Edward Burns as Private Reiben, Matt Damon (won an Oscar award on 1997) as Private Ryan himself, Tom Sizemore as Sergeant Horvath and Vin Diesel as Private Caparzo. The genre appears to be a slice of life, drama, romance, and comedy. The series revolves around stories of customers of a diner in Japan, with each episode telling different stories of their own everyday life. 2. SYNOPSIS Azman, 23 years old man came back from work and waiting for bus at the bus stop. However, since it’s the fasting month Azman is feeling a little hungry and lethargic and it’s already time to break the fast. Azman didn’t bring any food with him so he can only wait for the bus to come and break his fast at his home. Unfortunately, someone told him that he already missed the last bus so there are no bus coming to that bus stop anymore. Azman feeling a little bit sad but he keep it strong. On his way to his house, Azman saw a homeless guy eating a pack of Indomee for Iftar. Azman didn’t say anything and ignored the guy. Suddenly, Azman heard the homeless guy called him and say “You look tired, I’m pretty sure you haven’t eat yet for Iftar. I have an extra packet of Indomee. Here!” Azman burst into tears because he didn’t expected a guy would be kind to him. Azman sat there alongside the guy and start eating for Iftar.
