The Legends of Gaming - Part 4

Hey 👋 So today I'm gonna keep writing about DoTA 2 professional gaming but don't worry, if guys are getting bored with the "Legends of Gaming" series, just wait because there's a lot more to come in my blog! 😋

MidOne

👉His real name is Yeik Nai Zheng and he is from MALAYSIA! I'm a bit excited and proud because I, myself from Malaysia! MidOne is currently playing for Team Secret.

👉MidOne had a profound interest in video games when he was a child. His first video game he played was Tetris on a Gameboy when he was 3-4 years old and later moved to console gaming playing the Final Fantasy series on the Playstation 1. At an age of 7 he played his first computer games: Sonic and Rayman before playing venturing into DotA when he saw his brother playing it. His interest with DotA grew and later transitioned into Dota 2 playing in semi-professional teams to professional teams. While becoming the first player from South-East Asia to reach 8000MMR, he is an up-and-coming Dota 2 talent in Malaysia and South-East Asia. MidOne studies mechanical engineering at university.

👉Learning DotA from his brother, he kept on playing against him and his cousins in 1v1 matches. Despite losing, he had a competitive mindset and wanted improve and beat professional players such as kYxY. When he was 13 years old he joined a SMM tournament qualifier and came second place and a few years later he joined small tournaments around Malaysia to further obtain knowledge and experience as a Dota 2 player, while at the same time playing on solo matchmaking to improve his MMR.[1] While playing Dota as a amateur competitively, his parents would tell him to stop playing; ironically his friends would tell MidOne to stop studying and take a break, such as Dota.[3] When MidOne later became a professional player his friends and parents showed bipartisan support for him as a professional gamer.

TASK 6 | AUTEUR CRITICISM (MAMAT KHALID)

AUTEUR CRITICISM: MAMAT KHALID According to the auteur criticism, the example of the director’s film that is good to be considered as an auteur is the movies that I have chosen which are Rock Oo! (2013) and Rock Bro! (2016), both films are directed by Mamat Khalid. Mamat Khalid constantly portrays and directed comedy genre movies such as Rock Oo! and Rock Bro! Like the aforementioned movies, both movies have an interesting mix of genres, comedy, and musical. Everybody knows Mamat Khalid for his comedy genre film and his film attracted many viewers and some of his film got box office records. We also can see that Mamat Khalid likes to make his film in village life-style ( Zombie Kampung Pisang) or retro life-style as we can see in Rock Oo! We can see that most of his film using same aesthetics from the plot, scene, sound and music also sound the same. As example, in Rock Oo! and Rock Bro! Mamat Khalid port...

TASK 4 | GENRE CRITICISM: BERSERK (1997) & ATTACK ON TITAN (2013)

TASK 4 | GENRE CRITICISM: BERSERK (1997) & ATTACK ON TITAN (2013) BERSERK (1997) ATTACK ON TITAN (2013) Berserk (1997) and Attack on Titan (2013) both are animated television series and aired on several countries’ television station. Berserk (1997) was aired from 1997 and 1998. It is an adaptation from manga Berserk. However, Attack on Titan (2013) or also known as Shingeki no Kyojin in Japanese was aired on 2013 and up until now. Both have dark humour story telling and not suitable for audience age under 18 without parental guidance. The reason is because both series have included scary death moment such as being eaten by the giants (from Attack on Titan) and many more. To analyse genre of the series, it must be including three types of approaches that we can used which is Aesthetic approaches, Ritual approaches and Ideological approaches. Both Berserk (1997) and Attack on Titan (2013) have shared the same Aesthetic Characteristics. In term of Aesthetic, ...
